El Pollo Loco is bringing the homemade-style Chicken Pozole Verde to its menu this holiday season. Customers can purchase the soup in two sizes small or large. Patrons should be mindful that this menu item will not be available in every El Pollo Loco location and will only be up for grabs for a short period of time.
El Pollo Locos’ Chicken Pozole Verde includes chicken, hominy, tomatillo, cilantro, garlic, onion, serrano chile, Anaheim chili, and is and garnished with shredded cabbage, cilantro, and a wedge of lime. In addition, the dish comes with a side of chips.
El Pollo Loco has also released another new line of menu items this season, the Chicken Tamale Bowls. There are three dishes you can order, including Two Chicken Tamales, Tamale and Chopped Chicken Breast, and Tamale with 2 Piece Leg and Thigh. Rice topped with pinto beans accompany all three dishes, and enchilada sauce is spread over the tamales with cilantro and queso fresco. The tamales are comprised of grilled chicken, which is gently boiled in a red chile sauce and wrapped up in a masa.
What else was new in 2019? The restaurant is also added an additional item to the menu called the Mexican Hot Chocolate. This drink includes Abuelita chocolate, mixed with cinnamon and vanilla. Finally whipped cream and cinnamon sugar is placed on the top.
